I saw in the gleaners’ coverage of the ongoing case of Drayl
Vaz and his dual citizenship, that our director of elections is also a holder
of dual citizenship! It seems like all our movers and shakers have one foot on
the rock and the other in the sky?
In my opinion, I don’t believe that anyone holding dual
citizenship should be allowed to be part of the government, I don’t care if
they were born with it, studied for it, bought it or stole it. If you wish to
lead, that is the least we can expect from you as a show of commitment.
Let me ask Mr. Vaz this question if he was required to give
up his US citizenship to remain an MP would he?
Remember, contrary to what many uptown people think the
majority of Jamaicans do not hold green cards or multiple citizenships, and
have no where to run to.
